WARNING: I am not a beauty blogger!
I have joined the #2014BloggerChallenge.
What is it?
It's a challenge that was created by Gaby from Another Girly Blog to challenge bloggers to write about things they normally wouldn't write about. You'll see the button pictured above on my sidebar for the year as well :).
How does it work?
Each month, there are two prompts that those who signed up for the blogger challenge write about, which are spread out every two weeks.
So, someone is telling you what to write about?
Sort of. You can choose not to participate in a specific topic if you so choose, or you can do every single one! It's up to you. But ultimately, yes, someone is telling me what to write for TWO POSTS out of the month.
Why did you sign up?
I chose to participate in this challenge to push myself out of my comfort zone - to blog about something I may not have blogged about otherwise. I signed up because I wanted to meet more bloggers and have a common goal amongst ourselves. Those participating (409 to be exact) are from all around the world, and it's really exciting and fun to meet other women with common interests and those that are completely different from you in different cultures! Basically, for fun, y'all!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
This week's topic is skincare.
Scary, I know! Why? Well, let's face the music here - no sense trying to beat around the bush.
I AM NOT A BEAUTY BLOGGER.
Is that enough of a disclaimer? I hope so :). I am not, by any means imaginable, a beauty blogger. I don't buy random products to try out momentarily. I don't claim to know what works for specific skin types. I am not on the up and up of the latest beauty trends, do's, don't's, or otherwise. Get the picture?
And now, with all of that being said...I invite you to my skincare routine.
1// Clean & Clear Morning Burst Scrubbing Facial Cleanser
This stuff is uhhh-maz-inggg! Seriously. I use this about once or twice a week {I don't like to intensely scrub my face too frequently} and it leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth! And the scent is to die for! It's packed with yumberry extract {whatever the heck that is!} and strawberry seeds. It almost makes you want to eat it! PLEASE DON'T. I pick it up at our local H-E-B for around $3 or $4, depending on whether a coupon is available ;).
2// Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser
I use this cleanser on the daily - every morning and sometimes even at night if my face is still feeling dirty and/or oily. I have sensitive skin, and this stuff works wonders! It always leaves me feeling fresh and clean to begin my day {and sometimes end it}. I've searched high and low {okay, not really} for a good, daily cleanser, and this has been my go-to as of late! And I won't be changing anytime soon. I grab this from the local H-E-B for around $6-$7.
3// Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes
I use these for removing makeup at the end of the day, prior to washing my face and using the daily cleanser {if I feel like it that night}. They are very gentle on your skin, and it removes makeup pretty well! There is no alcohol, no oil, and it's hypoallergenic. Basically, two thumbs up! Surprise, surprise, these are also found at H-E-B and run about $5-$6. I can usually hold out and stock up when a $2 coupon is available!
4// Metrogel
I have rosacea. Ugh, I truly hate that word! For many years, I didn't know it was a 'condition' and thought my face was just red all of the time. Unbeknownst to me, it runs in my family and is definitely a condition. That's a story for another day. However, I recently went to my doctor and was prescribed metrogel. This stuff is PRICEY and is not over the counter. You must see your physician to get your hands on this stuff. I'm still in what I'm calling the testing stage of this medication, but so far I'm having pretty good results! The only downside to this {other than the price...even WITH insurance!} is that it's a gel and must be applied before your makeup, which means you also have to allow time for it to dry completely prior to applying anything else. Y'all, that means I have to wake up even earlier {woe is me, I know!} than usual! *sigh* It's worth it though :). I also need to get better at applying this daily, as directed, as it lasts about a month and a half.
So, there ya have it! The nitty gritty on my daily skincare routine. Nothing super secret or super special. I find that this routine works best for me and I've been very pleased so far! Please keep in mind that these products don't work for everyone - they're just what I'm loving right now!
What are your go-to skincare products?

Is it bad that I don't really use any???! Now that I'm 25 and 30 looks a lot sooner than I am okay with... I need to get on a skincare regimen! I'm actually glad I read this today! =)
Oh skin..ugh. I hate even talking about it. Mine drives me nuts. I can't use just any product on my face or I break out like a teenager right before prom!
I've seen lots of people mention the Clean & Clear products. I might just have to check them out. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving me some love!!
