The End.

Hello again! It's been oh so long, and I've missed this passion of mine very dearly.

With that being said, I'm here to explain. Sort of.

A lot has gone in in my life as of late...life changing things. Things I can never and will never be the same because of. BIG changes. These changes not only have an effect on this blog, but it changes my every day. It changes where I live, my daily routine, my life! And again, I'm being vague. #sorrynotsorry.

It is with a heavy heart that I must confront you all, my dear readers. Whether I know you personally and are dear to me in real life or if we've only conversed via the interwebs, you each mean the world to me! I've come to really love blogging and this space of mine. But with all good things, there comes an end. It hurts me deeply to say that Faithful Footprints will be no more. This space will be no more. I'm moving on. It's time to move on.

So, what does moving on mean for me? It means a brand new blog! That's right! Although this blog has seen its end, a new [and improved] blog is up and running, as of yesterday! I'm still working out all of the kinks and it's still a little *under construction*, so bear with me while I figure it all out!

I'm truly excited to see where this will go and the brighter days that lie ahead. I hope you will all make the transition with me! For privacy concerns and other reasons, I will not be promoting the new blog on here [besides this post]. So, if you have not yet been invited to follow the new space or if you want to check out all of the happenings, including a deeper explanation of what's been going on these past few months, feel free to email me to request the new blog info! I look forward to hearing from you and really have appreciated your loyalty! My readers are the best ever, and I truly hope that you'll stick around...just in a new setting!  Again, if you want the info on where I'm headed next, email me at: brileigh12{at}hotmail{dot}com.

Thanks, you guys! I'll always cherish this space and will miss it terribly, but I know that bigger and better things are on the way. I can't wait to explore it all with you!

For the last time...

Until Next Time...

This is a really hard post to write.

I know I've been pretty absent in blog world, both posting and reading blogs, and there's a reason behind it. However, I do not feel that I can put it all out there at this time, or any time in the near future.

I'm also sad to say that I'm going to continue to be absent from this blog for a while - time frame unknown. I've met some amazing people through this blog and I know that we will continue to talk and be friends outside of it for now. It deeply saddens me to step away at this time, but it's necessary.

I know this is vague, and I'm sorry. It's just necessary at this time and I pray that this season of life will be fulfilling for me and my family and that God's will be done. Speaking of praying, I'm also asking for prayers! Prayers for peace during uncertainty and comfort through pain. Thank you, thank you, thank you in advance!

Until next time...

An {Amazing} Night to Remember!

After a rough week last week, I'm happy to announce that Friday night was exactly what I needed! And it all started with a text...

That's what my husband texted to my sister. Hilarious! Y'all, this man melts my heart! I never get tired of the silly, amazing randomness that comes from him...ever! Needless to say, we went out that night!

I drove to my sister's place and selected her outfit for the evening, and then we accessorized. That in itself was therapeutic! :) As I drove home, I kept a lookout for restaurants that wouldn't be far from the house to head to - we were tired of the same old places: Olive Garden, Chili's, etc. That's when I saw it: the Brick House Tavern & Tap. Hilary looked up the menu online and she had me at 'Drunken Chops'! Colten okay'd the restaurant, and we were off!

We were already having a blast and the night had only just begun! Some time with a few of my favorite people started the process of getting me out of the funk I had been in all week long! Thanks y'all! :)

When we walked into the restaurant, we were asked if 'one of their couches was okay'. Umm, excuse me? A couch?! YES PLEASE!

Y'all, never in my life had I even fathomed a place like this - it was AMAZING, for lack of a better word! Then it was time to order drinks. And yes, that picture above includes their huge drink menu...anything you can think of, they have it! Hilary ordered the margarita, Colten ordered the Zombie (with a two-drink limit), and I wanted a glass of wine. The waiter then asked if I was only going to have one glass ... umm, I don't know? He proceeded to explain that it would be cheaper to purchase the bottle than another glass, and they cork the wine and let you take it home if you don't finish it. Yes, please!

That moscato was amazing. Yes, I know I probably need a thesaurus for this post, because everything seems to be amazing - it just was!!! AMAZING!!! And apparently it's pretty hilarious that the designated driver (me) continued to order a bottle of wine and drink half of it with dinner. Oops! :) Don't worry, I didn't drive home...

Colten wanted to try the fried stuffed olives (parmesan panko breaded, stuffed with italian pork sausage & brie cheese), which were apparently disgusting. We won't be ordering them again (I was smart enough not to try one...). Then was their menu. Oh My Goodness, their menu. They have a little bit of everything! BBQ baby backs, chicken fried steak, seared halibut, chicken & waffles, grilled mahi mahi, steak & shrooms, oven roasted chicken, atlantic salmon, prosciutto wrapped meatloaf, steak & eggs, drunken chops, classic meatballs, brick pizza, crispy center-cut pork sandwich, greek lamb burger, beefed up steak salad ... the list goes on and on! Seriously!

I ordered the bbq baby backs (half rack of baby back pork ribs, slow cooked, glazed with whiskey bbq sauce & a side of fries) but substituted the fries for their cheddar mashed potatoes, Hilary ordered the drunken chops (two house brined center cut pork chops, whiskey bbq glaze, topped with onion strings & served with cheddar mashed potatoes), and Colten wanted the seared halibut (seared halibut finished with lemon thyme butter, over fresh haricot verts & russet thyme sweet potato hash). It was all AMAZING! Every single bite was finished and there were no take-home plates that night! We rounded out our evening with dessert: magic brownies for me and Hilary (walnut brownies topped with bluebell vanilla ice cream) and a bourbon cake with bluebell vanilla ice cream for Colten. Yum, yum!

This was our view for the evening ... yes, that's a real fire! So....AMAZING! The entire night was just amazing! I am so unbelievably thankful for an amazing husband and sister to spend quality time enjoying a night out at a new place! We will definitely be going back to the Brick House ... time and time again I'm sure. We laughed so much and just really enjoyed each other's company. I couldn't have asked for a better night!

Nothing.

It's been a rough week. I don't know what it was exactly about it, but it's one that's been honestly painful, in more ways than one.

Do you ever just have one of those weeks where although nothing is actually wrong, you just can't shake not feeling 'right' or yourself? That was me. ALL.WEEK.LONG. I felt awful for a few days, and by awful, I mean completely awful, not wanting to move or breathe or do much of anything. And all of this at the same time as I'm feeling completely sorry for myself for having to work two jobs and feel as if life is completely passing me by and that I can't grab ahold of it fast enough.

I NEED A VACATION.

And on top of ALL of that, my absolute all-time favorite blogger announced this week that she will no longer be blogging as 'full-time' as she has been, which is 100% understandable but has left me in quite a fragile state in which I don't know what to do about... I'm still waiting for her to break the news that she's moving to Texas - we'd be the best BFF's ever...for real! But I'm honestly glad that we've become friends through this blog world and I'm glad she's sticking around, if even for only a few posts a month. She knows I'll be reading!

The part that really gets me about myself this week is that it's actually been a GREAT week! I, in no way, should be feeling this way at all

+ we did our taxes this week and learned we will be getting money back - hooray!

+ Colten and I both received things we've been dreaming of for a while now (more on those to come later), which neither of us could have predicted earlier in the week.

+ Monday was a holiday, so the work week was already shortened.

+ I saw my sister several times this week. Maybe we're just sharing this feeling too - a feeling of 'blah' and emptiness.

Normally if these things were to happen, I'd be completely giddy and super happy, as for me, it's all about the little things. I need to shoo away the black cloud looming over me. I don't know how I'll do it, but I know it will get done. I know this is a phase that I will get through and that nothing is really wrong...it's just been a weird week. A week I'm ready to put behind me and move on from.

People have been asking:
Are you sad? - no.
What's wrong? - nothing.
Seriously, what's wrong? - I don't know.
What do you mean you don't know? - I don't know.
What's WRONG?! - nothing

I've tried all of the usual suspects in trying to feel better:
- ice cream
- wine
- my husband
- mindless television
- reading
- music
- our adorable puppy

None of it's working! I'm praying that this weekend will be the rejuvenation I've needed lately and that next week will be the best ever! I'm chalking it up to hormones and that I just needed a period of time to myself in order to just be and not stress or obsess over other people and other people's problems. A time to just be ME and be okay with doing absolutely nothing. That's okay, sometimes. It can be good for the soul, right? Not every day is a good day and not every week is happy and joyful. I know this will pass and is temporary, but until then, I'm going to allow myself to be okay with nothing as my response. Is it okay that I'm okay with this feeling for a little while?

A proposal!

The lovely couple.

My baby brother is ENGAGED!

This weekend was one for the books, as my little brother proposed to his girlfriend of 13 years! Colten and I headed to my parents' house on Saturday to help set everything up and to help celebrate that night! It was so sweet and so romantic...let the wedding planning begin!

Letting Go

Letting go is a hard but necessary part of life. It's healthy. The absolute hardest part of this process for me is actually realizing when it's time to let go, whether it be of a situation, a feeling I'm having, friendships, material things ... I struggle in recognizing the when

Letting Go of Desire

Letting go is an art form and a process. It doesn't happen overnight. In fact, it looms over me and makes me constantly think about the particular situation for days and days, sometimes weeks and months! Confession: I struggle with letting go. Of anything. Story of my life!

However, I've noticed recently that I'm finding it easier and easier to truly let go of things, people, situations that aren't good for me. It's not healthy to cling on to something or someone forever when in reality, you need to move past it. So I guess you could say I'm getting healthier :).

A big part of my progress in this area is my faith. Becoming closer with God has allowed me to truly and realistically give it all to Him. This means it's taken care of. Whatever 'it' is, God's got a handle on it. Now, I've known this forever, but as with anything these days, it's way easier said than done. However, I'm really making strides in acting on it, and I feel amazing!

I have a post-it note on my computer monitor that reads:

"Sometimes the best thing you can do is not think, not wonder, not imagine, not obsess. Just breathe and have faith that everything will work out for the best. Let go and let God."

It's true! Putting this into action each and every day has helped me tremendously! I no longer fret over losing a friendship that I know isn't healthy anymore or getting rid of those clothes I'm never going to wear again. Like I said, it relates to every.single.aspect.of.my.life. For real.

I'm not saying that I've perfected the act of letting go, but I've definitely come a long way. With that, though, I've still got a long way to go. But I'm proud of the progress I've made and where I am currently. I'm happier because of it. My husband is happier because of it. I stress less. I'm more calm in situations I have no control over. I'm learning to let go. And it's amazing.

The really amazing part is when other people notice my overall happiness and the way I deal with something that usually would set me off. Case in point: very recently, Colten discovered his wedding ring was missing. Normally, I would absolutely lose it {and for a second or two, I did...}; I mean, it's your WEDDING RING! But, I calmly helped him look for it, at least until he came to realization that the last time he had it was at work. Ultimately, he concluded that he accidentally threw it away when he took his gloves off at work. {This would've been the time that the old me would've stormed off and yelled something not so nice}. Instead, I took a deep breath and gave him a hug. He was beside himself with losing it, and it was unbelievably obvious how hurt he was. Me blowing up at him wasn't going to help the situation. Instead, I let go of the anger I felt and told him that I loved him. Yes, he'll never have the ring I gave him when we were married. But does that change the fact that we're married or that we love each other?! Absolutely not. A ring is replaceable - especially if it's not something that's been passed down or anything. And the awesome thing is that I remember exactly where I got it from, and they still have the exact same ring, on sale. So, we will replace it and move on with our lives. He still loves me. He didn't do it on purpose. It was a mistake, and we all make mistakes. Who am I to judge him?! I took a deep breath, didn't obsess over the situation, and I let go. And oh how amazing it felt to not be completely caught up in my feelings of hurt and anger.
Letting go is good.

How do you 'let go'? Do you struggle with it?

ROAD TRIP!

Wow, what a weekend! Is it okay to say that I was actually looking forward to Monday?

This weekend, we traveled over 500 miles. Let that sink in for a minute... it feels like ROAD was all we saw...

Road Less Traveled

500 miles. Now do you understand why I wanted so badly for Monday to roll around? I just want normal back! Is that too much to ask for? I think not! But, I do admit that we really had a great time with so much family and friends!

Friday, we hit the road at 2:00pm to head south. Wayyyy south. Like, Port Lavaca south.

When we left for the 3 hour drive, it was 78 degrees and sunshine! Seriously perfect weather for a road trip! We visited with Colten's friend, who we hadn't seen in months, and ate delicious ribs. What more could you ask for, really? Oh wait, there was vomiting involved - on Colten's part. Someone got a bit drunk and mixed just a few too many alcoholic beverages - variety is not your friend, sir. He really should know better. Serves him right, as I slept right through it all!

Saturday, we woke up early-ish (early for someone with a hangover anyway...haha) and said our goodbyes to head even further south to Ingleside for Colten's niece's 6th birthday! I guess she's my niece too, but that just sounds crazy! Technically, my step-niece-in-law. Got it? Good. We usually have to miss out on such events because Colten is working, but he was fortunate enough to have the weekend off, so it was perfect! And it was much needed, too. It was so good to see him interacting with his family and enjoying some time away from the stresses of house chores, work, and school. A break is always a good thing! Colten's mom definitely enjoyed having all the kids together, which doesn't happen very often! It's hard to get everyone together with work schedules and other things going on, so we made sure to capture this moment for eternity, much to their dismay ;).

Colten & his siblings.
It was definitely a good time. And his sister & brother-in-law's house is gorgeous! I'm so, so glad that we were able to be there to celebrate a birthday and some family time.

This guy pretty much stole the show!
Bestill my heart!
Saturday night, we said our goodbyes to his family and got back on the road for another 2 1/2 hour drive to my parents' house. See? Isn't this fun? Living out of a car for the weekend? Blech. No thank you! I didn't enjoy being in the car for that long, as I'm not one to like confined spaces for such long periods of time, but I truly did enjoy the time with family and friends, so it was definitely worth it. It helps that we don't do it too often, so I really shouldn't complain...but this is my blog, and I wouldn't be true to it if there was zero complaining :).

Now, where were we? Oh yes. On the road. Again. It was about 8:30pm when we headed out, and Colten so very sweetly volunteered to drive. Y'all, he drove for the entire trip this weekend! I'm so blessed (because I got to sleep)! Once we entered Rockport, the flashing lights blinded us. Yep, we got stopped by the county sheriff. One of the headlights on my car went out and we hadn't had a chance to fix it. Thankfully, he only gave us a warning and told us to fix it as soon as possible. Yes sir! So, we went on our merry way and continued our trek to the 'burg. I fell asleep and Colten did great just driving along. Until the flashing lights blinded us. Again. Y'all, we got stopped twice for the same reason in two different towns on the same drive! Halletsville PD pulled us over for our broken headlight and thankfully also only gave us a warning - and told us to get it fixed. By this second stop, it was 11:00pm. There was absolutely no way to get it fixed at this time of night. Therefore, we accepted the warning and went about our merry way for the 20 more minutes to my parents' house.

Colten is not good with directions. He remembers roads and routes and things pretty well, but he just doesn't do directions. However, he followed them pretty well for being so late at night and being tired! We were on one of the backroads and oh so close to 'home' for the night when I saw them: 6 wild hogs running across the road, right in front of us. My heart caught in my throat and I was filled with dread. We were going too fast to stop in time to miss them. There were so many of them. It was late. We were tired. Please, God, place your guiding hand upon us and give us a miracle to not total our car by hitting a wild hog. Please. I begged and pleaded in those few seconds that I had.

And a miracle we got! Thank God that we did not hit them. I don't know how Colten managed to miss every single one of them, but he did! I started crying - I don't know if it was from exhaustion or from the adrenaline that had been pumping through my body each and every time a cop pulled us over that night, but I was a mess! It wasn't like full-on ugly crying, but I was just ready to be home for the night and to sleep. We arrived at my parents' house around 11:30pm, and I went straight to bed. And I slept.

Church was at 9:30 on Sunday morning and was in remembrance of my grandparents, so we went. Josh also showed up that morning to attend mass in honor of them. It was a great mass and it felt good to be back where I grew up. We had a delicious lunch and great entertainment...especially with these two dressed to the nines in their neon!

They couldn't have planned this if they tried!
A cheeto and a lemon walk into a bar... Haha! It was too, too funny. And I'm so glad they obliged when I requested a picture - thanks guys! :) It's never a dull moment in my family, that's for sure!

Colten worked on some homework with my dad's help, and mom and I enjoyed a few rounds of Skip-Bo, which made for a leisurely afternoon! And thank goodness, because it was COLD. The weather dropped to below 40 degrees, and the wind was torturous! I went from wearing shorts and flip flops for two days to bundling up in a blanket and a hoodie on Sunday! Thanks, Texas!

We stayed at my parents' house for the Super Bowl game - which honestly wasn't much of a 'game'. I'm not an avid football follower, but for some reason, I was inclined to watch the game. Now, I have sort of an issue, here. Following Facebook statuses, so many people were accusing not only me, but others as well as jumping on the Seahawks bandwagon. I want to clear that up, mostly for my own sake to justify my position. It's the SUPER BOWL. There are only two teams playing. Whether or not I am a fan of a specific team, one must root for one team or the other. There are only two teams playing. What other option is there?! Yes, I was rooting for the Seahawks from the beginning, because they were the underdog and it was their first time to the 'big game'. Ever. Was I jumping on the Seahawks bandwagon? I don't think so. I was simply rooting for one of the teams I was currently watching that day. Simple as that. Got it? Kay, thanks! It's not my fault the Broncos decided to stay in bed and not participate! :)

My favorite commercials were the Budweiser commercials. The puppy and the Clydesdale just melted my heart - like, my heart was shattered when the puppy was being taken away...see for yourself!

Y'all. My heart!! Love, love, love this commercial! And the welcome home commercial was absolutely breathtaking! Check out the documentary on that, even if you saw the commercial already...

After Seattle blew Denver out of the water, we packed up and made the two hour drive home, arriving at 11:00pm. Exhausted is an understatement this morning...

Overall, I'm so excited to have had such a wonderful weekend with my husband and our families. It was worth all the time on the road! But, I was honestly so happy to be home and to see Ace after being gone for the weekend! I missed him so much. I think he missed us too. :) And a huge thanks to my sister for checking in on him while we were gone! It truly means a lot - thanks sis! Love you!!

A Positive Note

Can I just say that I'm so unbelievably thankful that today is Friday? Do I say that every Friday? Yes? Well, I wouldn't want to break that cycle, now would I? Definitely not.

It's been such a rough week this week, with yesterday being the worst of it I believe.

Not only in my life, but in the lives of my family members, co-workers, and work in general. Not to mention fellow bloggers - what the heck is up with this week?! Man! I'm just glad to have survived - only, it's not over yet. :(

Thankfully, as I've already mentioned, it's friday, so that's a huge plus in my book! Also, my boss thought a Donut Friday was in order after this tough week - too bad I'm really trying to stay away from those sweets! I think I'll just eat my sister's amazing chocolate pecan scones instead - yep, they're better anyway! And baked fresh last night - YUMM!

I also get to spend the entire weekend with my husband, so I'm looking forward to that. We'll be spending a lot of time in the car, but it's a chance for us to reconnect after crazy schedules and whatnot, and really just talk.

So, although this week has been oh so trying, I'm relishing in the positives and being thankful that this week is now behind me - almost.

Life Happens

Yesterday was a whirlwind. And now I'm angry, frustrated, stressed, mad, worried ... it goes on and on.

Colten noticed a knot on his calf several days ago, which we both blew off as probably a bite of some sort that would go away on its own. Well, it didn't. It progressively got worse and then actually started hurting him. So, yesterday, he was off to the doctor.

Once he was done there, he was told he'd had to have a venous doppler ultrasound done. When he tried to leave for that appointment, his truck wouldn't start. There was no one else around at the time to offer him a ride, so I left work early and took off to take him.
We got the diagnosis from the radiologist: my dear, sweet husband has blood clots. Plural

I'm scared. I'm angry. I'm frustrated.

And then I remind myself: life happens. These moments are inevitable. It's scary not knowing what's going on or what prompted something else to happen. It's frustrating having to deal with car problems when you shouldn't be having car problems {he bought a new battery only six short months ago...this should not be an issue}. It's terrifying to watch the love of your life first battle pneumonia and then get hit with blood clots.

I'm stressed. I don't know where to turn. I don't know what to do. I'm worried. I'm mad.

His doctor has yet to contact him to inform him of the next step now that his diagnosis has been confirmed. This angers me to no end. Aren't blood clots serious? Shouldn't there be a course of action for him to start on by now? I'm no medical professional, but not having answers or a 'plan' is driving me insane. We were there for hours yesterday, and we still have no clue what is going to happen next.

Then, we had to still deal with the dead truck at the doctor's office. The plan was to jump it with my car. This took like 20 minutes -- it helps to know where the battery is in your car! I just got the car not too long ago, so I didn't know. My dad had to look it up - it's by the spare tire in the back of the car. Seriously?
We were finally able to head home, but my husband still has no reliable transportation right now. And he had to open at work today. He has blood clots in his leg and has to go to work - his doctor hasn't said he can't. He has no 'excuse' that's good enough not to be there. He's in pain, and he has to work. This breaks my heart.

And how was he supposed to get there? We both had to be at work within two hours of each other, and we only had one working vehicle. Stressed is an understatement.

It's never-ending. Life happens. We just have to deal with it and move on. I'm just lucky enough that no matter what life throws at us, I have my loving, caring, goofy husband to hold my hand along the way, through every storm. He never lets go, and I'm amazed by his strength time and time again. Although he has been in pain, he still puts a smile on my face and cheers me up, even though he's the patient. He will go out of his way to make sure I'm okay. He melts my heart.

I'm still worried about him and pray that he makes it through the day in as little to no pain as possible. I pray that he doesn't worsen today or have any serious complications while he's at work. I know that God is in control and ultimately knows the outcome of this storm, but while weathering it, I worry. What if he gets worse? What if he's not okay? What if we receive worse news today? Tomorrow?

The 'what ifs' are nauseating. I refuse to get bogged down in them, but I still worry. I'm just glad that through it all, I get to experience the highs and lows of this life all with my husband by my side. All while life happens around us.

So {Thankful}

So, last week I did so great blogging every.single.day! This week, not so much! The weekend just got away from me, and I've been super busy ever since. Plus, I'm not feeling so great, so I'm trying to rest up so I feel 100% for the rest of this holiday week! Can y'all believe Thanksgiving is only two days away?! And Sunday, it'll be DECEMBER! Holy WOW!

So, with Thanksgiving being so close ... I decided to write about things I've been thankful for lately. Just something to boost my spirits and help remind me of the greatness while I'm not feeling so great.

Today I'm Thankful For

+ my family. Seriously, I can never say enough just how much my family means to me! We support each other 110% through thick and thin, and I absolutely adore my family!

+ my husband. He's so amazing and I'm forever thankful to be his wife! He's been so patient and understanding these past few days while I haven't been feeling like myself.

+ cold weather! It's no surprise that I absolutely love cold weather, and it hasn't been disappointing this week! It's been in the 30's all week, and I'm in love!

+ my health. Although I haven't been feeling the greatest these past few days, I'm so thankful I don't have any major health issues and that I'm generally pretty healthy.

+ scarves. I've had a recent scarf obsession and I'm just loving my monogrammed scarf from Caitlin!

+ bloggy friendships. Non-bloggers just don't get it. "You actually talk to complete strangers about your life? Like, serious in-depth life stuff?"  Nope, I don't. Blog friends aren't strangers! You tell so much about yourself in the blog world and really open up, so fellow bloggers definitely aren't strangers! They're friends. And sometimes they know more about me than real-life friends. Sometimes.

+ three day work weeks. They're the best! And tomorrow isn't even a full day - we're out at noon!

+ unanswered prayers. I know it's cliche, but it's so true! If all of my prayers were answered the way I wanted them to be, I wouldn't be where I am today and be experiencing my life the way that I am. I'm so thankful that God has a plan for my life and I'm not completely in control! Amen!

+ Christmas decorations! I put up our Christmas tree last Friday, and my mood was lifted instantly! I just love the ambience from the lights and how comfortable it is with the heater running, cold weather outside, and Christmas decorations scattered throughout the house. Perfection I tell ya!

+ Ace. Seriously, our doggy has given me so much joy since we first got him several years ago. He's not a little puppy anymore, though! *sigh* Just this morning, he was loving on me and cuddling with me - I didn't want to leave the house! He just makes me smile when sometimes all I want to do is cry.

It's {Time}...

I just can't take it anymore! I'm seriously annoyed by people continuously using improper grammar. Seriously! Now, I'm not saying I'm perfect, because I definitely make my fair share of mistakes {and ironically, I'm sure there are a few mistakes in this grammar-focused rant}, but is it really too much to ask to just get the basics down?

From blogs {which are much less common}, to Facebook, twitter, to essays, to speaking ... it seems as if grammar is just not as important to the human race as it needs to be. Seriously! I'm talking about important things here, like the use of "your" and "you're",  "then" and "than", and "their", "they're", and "there", just to name a few! These top ten pretty much sum it up:

I used to try to just ignore it. I mean, the mistakes are everywhere! However, I just can't take it anymore! It's time to take a stand against improper grammar and for people everywhere {from kids to adults} to learn the correct way to speak and write. Is it really too much to ask? I don't think so.

It's one thing to shorthand in texts or things of that nature, but when it's for all the world to see, can we please try a little harder? I really believe that if things keep going the way they are, we're all doomed! Just think about it, it's only going to get worse and worse. Then, these same people that can't write or speak one proper sentence are going to be running corporate America one day {or, something along those lines}! Is that what we want? Where does it go from there? It's chaos, I tell you! Maybe you don't feel as passionate about this problem as I do, and maybe I'm blowing it a bit out of proportion {although I'm totally not}, but the fact of the matter is that "B4", "goin", or "gonna be" JUST AIN'T CUTE! {improper grammar completely intended there}

 Grammar Ecard

With that being said, I'm very thankful for all of you out there that do take pride in speaking proper English {at least most of the time}. I've come across so many blogs that are beautifully written, complete with correct punctuation and everything! Because, let's face it, punctuation saves lives!

Poor grandma! I'm sure she might be a little tough to chew...

So, the next time you type up a blog post, Facebook status, tweet, research paper, journal entry, or what have you, think about using the proper form of words and putting punctuation where it needs to be! Run-on sentences aren't cute, people! They make you look stupid. Point blank. I'm not saying that you have to be correct 100% of the time, but when it counts, make your writing count! You're already going through the effort to form paragraphs and put thoughts down on paper, why not do it correctly?!

Just some food for thought today. :-)

Snakes Don't Have Armpits!

So, everywhere I turn today - technology problems. Slow performance, network down, etc. etc. So, for today, just a few fun pictures from my iPhone. Just a lot of randomness for a random day! It is what it is, and when life happens, you eat it and move on! Go ahead, try it!

Happy hump day!
