The End.

Hello again! It's been oh so long, and I've missed this passion of mine very dearly.

With that being said, I'm here to explain. Sort of.

A lot has gone in in my life as of late...life changing things. Things I can never and will never be the same because of. BIG changes. These changes not only have an effect on this blog, but it changes my every day. It changes where I live, my daily routine, my life! And again, I'm being vague. #sorrynotsorry.

It is with a heavy heart that I must confront you all, my dear readers. Whether I know you personally and are dear to me in real life or if we've only conversed via the interwebs, you each mean the world to me! I've come to really love blogging and this space of mine. But with all good things, there comes an end. It hurts me deeply to say that Faithful Footprints will be no more. This space will be no more. I'm moving on. It's time to move on.

So, what does moving on mean for me? It means a brand new blog! That's right! Although this blog has seen its end, a new [and improved] blog is up and running, as of yesterday! I'm still working out all of the kinks and it's still a little *under construction*, so bear with me while I figure it all out!

I'm truly excited to see where this will go and the brighter days that lie ahead. I hope you will all make the transition with me! For privacy concerns and other reasons, I will not be promoting the new blog on here [besides this post]. So, if you have not yet been invited to follow the new space or if you want to check out all of the happenings, including a deeper explanation of what's been going on these past few months, feel free to email me to request the new blog info! I look forward to hearing from you and really have appreciated your loyalty! My readers are the best ever, and I truly hope that you'll stick around...just in a new setting!  Again, if you want the info on where I'm headed next, email me at: brileigh12{at}hotmail{dot}com.

Thanks, you guys! I'll always cherish this space and will miss it terribly, but I know that bigger and better things are on the way. I can't wait to explore it all with you!

For the last time...

Until Next Time...

This is a really hard post to write.

I know I've been pretty absent in blog world, both posting and reading blogs, and there's a reason behind it. However, I do not feel that I can put it all out there at this time, or any time in the near future.

I'm also sad to say that I'm going to continue to be absent from this blog for a while - time frame unknown. I've met some amazing people through this blog and I know that we will continue to talk and be friends outside of it for now. It deeply saddens me to step away at this time, but it's necessary.

I know this is vague, and I'm sorry. It's just necessary at this time and I pray that this season of life will be fulfilling for me and my family and that God's will be done. Speaking of praying, I'm also asking for prayers! Prayers for peace during uncertainty and comfort through pain. Thank you, thank you, thank you in advance!

Until next time...

Winter Cara Box

Once again, I participated in the Cara Box exchange, hosted by Kaitlyn of Wifessionals. Things changed again for this exchange, as it is now hosted primarily through Instagram. Some people love the changes, and some don't. I have to admit that I was more on the 'not so much loving this IG Cara Box exchange thing', but I saw it through for this time around.

Cara Box

My partners were Nicole and Kaysey, two of the most loving women I've met thus far!

I sent a box to Nicole, whom sadly does not have a blog yet. Key word: yet! ;) I have high hopes that one day she will begin that journey, but until then, take it from me - she's the greatest! She and her husband have a heart for the Lord and a passion for serving others. I'm telling you, this woman is involved in so much! And it all involves her 'giving'. She's truly inspirational, and I've really loved getting to know her! Thank you, Nicole, for being a great Cara Box partner!

I received a box from Kaysey from Thinking Out Cloud. This momma has a lot goin' on! She has two precious boys and captures her love for them on her blog - so fun. Take a few minutes and go check her out! I've absolutely loved getting to know her over the past few months, and as hectic as the holidays were, she still took the time to respond to my emails and check out my blog! She was so supportive with some personal things I had going on, and I'm truly thankful for her!

I think I can also say that my love of all things pink definitely came through while we were getting to know each other...

LOVE that tissue paper! She definitely spoiled me and went above and beyond! Every single thing I unwrapped just had me so thankful. She captured me to a T, and I know she put in a lot of effort to find things I would truly enjoy!
That lotion smells amazing! Kaysey said it was her favorite, and it was pink and reminded her of me, so she added it. I love it! I literally put it on as soon as I unwrapped it. My mother in law also mentioned how good it smelled and wanted to know what it was called. This stuff seriously smells amazing. The candle also smells divine! Vanilla snowflake?! Yes, please! Especially down in South Texas, where the weather does {on occasion} get cold but no snow. Ever. I'm definitely all over that candle and love it like a fat kid loves cake! :)

The notepad is great! I'm a list maker, so I'm always excited to have more notepads to fill with my infamous lists. My husband might not have shared my excitement, but oh well :). It's also magnetic, so on the fridge it goes! And that cross?! Let me just tell you about that cross. Uh-Maz-Ing! She mentioned in her note that she knows it's not pink, but this cross is one of her favorites and added it to the mix. Little does she know {she might...I forget what all I tell people about myself} that I have not one, but two cross walls in our apartment, and our decor is 'country', meaning mostly neutrals and browns with a TURQUOISE accent color! This baby matches perfectly! It may or may not already be hanging up ;).

That scarf is to die for. I recently have had an obsession with all things scarves and she played right into that! It's unbelievably soft and is shades of pink to yellow ... gorg! It's also pretty lightweight, which is great because I just can't do big, bulky, wooly scarves - this is TEXAS!

And, the best for last - that luggage tag. Want a closer look? Why, I'd love to oblige. It's worth it!

First of all, it's pink. Winner, winner, chicken dinner! It also has Scripture on it...

"With God all things are possible." - Matthew 19:26

We have a trip coming up, which Kaysey knew, and she knew I'd get a lot of use out of this! I seriously love it so much! We're not big travelers, mostly because we can't afford to be right now, but I now have my first ever luggage tag, and it holds a lot of special meaning to me!

Basically, Kaysey rocked my world with every single thing she added to my box. She really captured ME, which I guess isn't too difficult - if it's pink and it smells good, you're safe :). But she went above and beyond with things that she knew held significance to me and that I would actually get use out of.  Thank you, Kaysey! Best.CaraBox.Partner.Ever. :)

Hey, Haley!

Happy hump day! It's Wednesday, and the roads are cleared up from yesterday's craziness. It iced again here, which meant that basically the entire city was shutdown, except it wasn't. Our office delayed opening to 10am, which was super amazing because it meant I was able to sleep in for two extra hours! Yes, please! Then, at 9:00am, I got the call that they were delaying opening for another two hours, so I turned around and headed home. I was pretty disgusted with the fact that they (as in the city in general) waited until the last minute to make a decision on whether businesses and schools would be delayed or even closed for the day. One school in particular literally decided to close for the day like two minutes before classes were to start, and buses had gone out to pick up children - it ultimately led to livid parents and children who were on the bus for hours. Not cool, Austin. Not cool.

Anyway, I'm here today to tell you about my super cool and amazing bloggy friend! Her name is Haley and she blogs over at Truth Be Told! She's a Canadian, and she loves her some snail mail! {which reminds me, I need your address, girl!}

Truth Be Told

This picture sums up what I think about Haley - she's hilarious, y'all! She's one of my regular commenters, and I always look forward to her quirky and hilarious take on my post for the day. She's also super sweet and encouraging! No matter what I'm going through or facing, she always brightens my day with some quick words of wisdom. She's also a new momma to a gorgeous daughter, Alina. Check out what their names mean, here.

Isn't Alina just precious?! Like mother like daughter, wouldn't you agree? ;) Just look at the resemblance in these two pictures!

Also, Haley's husband is equally hilarious, and I can only imagine that they get into the funniest situations! That's one entertaining couple! Haley does a series on her blog called, Crazy Shit Rob Does! I absolutely love this series and look forward to the things that he gets into! Check out what he's been into recently...here. You won't regret checking it out. Funny, funny stuff.

Haley is also on a mission...yep, Mission Hot Bod. She's attempting {and succeeding} to get back to the best shape of her life, post baby, and she's such an inspiration. She posts weekly updates and thinks no one reads them or cares, but she's wrong! She had a shaky week this past week, but she's doing such an amazing job and I'm pretty proud of her! You go, girl!

So, today, I just wanted to encourage Haley and lift her up. She has a lot going on in her life, and she's doing so well balancing everything! She's truly a refreshing soul and I look forward to continuing getting to know her and her sweet family! Go show them some love, y'all!

Fabulous Friday: It's Been a Great Week!

I've honestly had a pretty fabulous week! Thank God! I admit that I was a bit nervous when Monday rolled around, especially after such a long Thanksgiving holiday weekend! But, the week flew by fairly quickly and was pretty awesome, even in the midst of some not so awesome news. So, we’ll just start with that, shall we?

My dear, sweet husband has walking pneumonia. Yuck! He’s been fighting bronchitis for the past few weeks {almost a month}, and now it’s turned into full blown pneumonia. L However, he is now fully stocked and owns his own pharmacy {we joke} – several maximum strength antibiotics, a nasal spray that he must use religiously, and an inhaler that will be his BFF for the next two months! Praying that this all will kick it in the butt and he’ll be back to his happy, goofy self in no time! God willing…

And now, on to the greatness that was this week:

+ THIS WEATHER! Is it really shocking that I’m in love with the current 30 degree temps?! No, no it’s not.

+ My super new and fresh blog design! Seriously, I’m so in love with it! I know I only redid it 9 months ago, but I wanted something professional and have been thinking of doing so for a while now. Well, when Jana's BLACK FRIDAY sale ad went up, I was hooked! I saw it on Monday, filled out the questionnaire, emailed her back and forth all week long, and ta-da! Blog design by Friday! She’s seriously fast and seriously awesome! Seriously! Check out her design site and let her make you a masterpiece! Click here for her design site. This is the color inspiration I chose, and she ran with it:

flower hues

She did such a great job, and I truly enjoyed working with her! She was so quick to respond to each and every email, and she had the design up and running within a week, y’all! That’s even with a toddler running around… super impressive, Jana!

Here’s what my blog looked like previously, just to have it out there:

I absolutely love the change – thanks Jana! She captured what I wanted perfectly and I’m so excited that this is my little corner of the Internet! We have a few glitches to work out, but I know when everything is all said and done, it'll be nothing short of greatness. :)

Here's to a weekend full of cleaning, taking care of my sick hunny, and loving on my new design!

It's Fall Y'all! {Cara Box Reveal}

It's that time again! But this time, things are different! That's right, I'm talking about the Cara Box Exchange hosted by Kaitlyn over at Wifessionals! It's a swap between bloggers and non-bloggers alike, and a way to get to know some amazing people! For more information, head over here.
Grab button for Cara Box

I've participated several times before, and I just keep coming back for more! And now, there's a new schedule; instead of a monthly swap {let's face it, that's just not enough time to really get to know someone, shop for them, and mail a box!}, it's hosted four times a year, every three months. This current theme {September - November} was all things fall.

I was paired up with Brenda from Totally Brenda and sent her a box. She lives in the Dallas area, so it was nice to get to know someone sort of close by! She has a heart for children and helping in any way she can! She definitely made me want to do more! To "meet" her and see what she got, go check her out!

I received a box from Caitlin over at My Life As a Long. She is married to her best friend and that girl is always, always, always on the go! I just can't keep up... But the box she sent me was simply amazing, and she definitely outdid herself! Seriously!

She started it off with a $15 Starbucks gift card to my email account. Umm, yes please! This allowed me to get my first red cup of the season! :) Thanks Caitlin.

I immediately fell in love with everything in this box! She sent a great assortment of fall scents - my favorite! I took the room spray to my office and it's just glorious! It's Scentsy's scent of the month - cedar mill. Definitely a perfect fall scent.

The Essie nail polish is a perfect fall/winter color! I'm loving the dark colors lately, too, so it was perfect! I also adored the fuzzy socks. Who doesn't like a good pair of warm, fuzzy socks?!

She also hit the nail on the head with the EOS lip balm she sent! I've recently fell in love with their mint balm and Chapstick has become a thing of the past. So, to now own EOS in a pomegranate raspberry...just perfect! I haven't tried it out yet {I'm almost out of my current mint, so I'm waiting to jump into the new flavor}, but I'm pretty excited! Colten just looked at me like I was crazy when I saw this in the box. Haha! The only kinds I ever see are the mint and strawberry. I'm afraid I'll fall in love with the pomegranate raspberry and won't be able to find it anyway. So, *hint hint* Caitlin, I may be asking for a regular shipment! ;)

And the absolute best part of the box was my amazing, monogrammed scarf! I've recently began an obsession with all things scarves {I even bought a scarf hanger/organizer a few weekends ago}, and this fit right in! First of all, it's pink! Second, it's the softest scarf ever! Seriously. And lastly, {but not least} she monogrammed it with my initials. So sweet and personal! I'm in love, y'all! I wore this thing the very next morning. That's how much I loved it! And I got sooooo many compliments on it, too!

Thank you Caitlin! You outdid yourself, but {obviously} I love absolutely everything! :)

200...and counting!

Wow...already?! It's my 200th post! Freakin' crazy! But as crazy as it is, I'm also super excited that my blog has really taken off this year!

I started this blog as an outlet for me to use and just to ramble on and on and on about everything and nothing all at the same time. Seriously, there was no big {Aha!} moment, no wedding to blog about, no family to keep informed of anything significant happening in my life - nothing. My cousin had a blog and I sort of just decided to roll with it one day, so I did. Enter: my first blog post. Seriously pathetic! And hilarious! And mostly pathetic. Ha! I crack up when I read that - as if anyone was reading?! Super hilarious lame attempt. But, it took off from there. Not very fast. Not very consistent. It just was. And for a while, that's all it was. In 2009 {I began in April}, I only had 12 blog posts. Twelve. And every single post was about my random life. Seriously, there's even a post about the swine flu. Remember that? Yeah, I went there! And post after post rambling on about classes and the trouble I faced with college. Reading back, I'm so glad I'm donezo with that chapter of my life! Seriously!

And now, a few posts that have stuck out to me over the years...

+ prayer (here and here)

+ my amazing hubby (here, here, here, and here)

+ crazy family shenanigans (here, here, and here)

+ struggles (here and here [seriously, Bri?! wow...])

+ my car accident (here and here)

+ my faith (here, here, here, and here)

+ the year that changed my life forever

+ Granny Getschmann (here and here)

+ people pleasing

+ goals before I turn 30 {I can't even fathom that right now...}

+ and my blog wouldn't be complete without posts about myself now would it? Didn't think so. (here and here)

Okay, those are just about all a few of the posts that have graced this here blog over the years. But mostly, I'm thankful where I am today, through all of those posts. Some are happy, some are not. And of course, there are DiY projects and other fabulous things in there - so take some time to look around! It was fun looking back on all that I deemed blog worthy. Ha!  I remember earlier this year being so frustrated with blogging, I felt like I was missing out on all of the connections and the fun. What I didn't know was just how much work and commitment it took to really get all out of my blog that I could. But it's definitely worth it! I've made some great bloggy friends and I look forward to meeting many more! And then, my heart was being led to change up the blog. My Life Would Suck Without Me just wasn't fitting anymore. Thus began Faithful Footprints. I know that so many more great things will come through this blog and I'm excited for it all!

Blogging has been a great outlet for me, even if no one is out there reading it {although I know there are...and for those of you, thank you!}. I've found a passion in writing, and I hope that skill only improves over time. Blogging has become a part of my life, and it's something I'm so grateful to have! So, here's to post number 200, and more to come!

*And, as a side note, since this post is already crazy random, the weather today is glorious! Seriously, it's 44 degrees and sunny! It just doesn't get much better than that! I'm one happy girl. :)

**Today is also filled with mixed emotions, as it was two years ago today that my grandmother tragically was taken from this world and three months ago today that my grandfather lost his battle with cancer. I miss them both terribly and think about them every.single.day. I know they are now together in Heaven watching over us without any pain or concerns. Thank God for memories. And pictures.

Our amazing family!

I Have a Life?!

I just love when life gets in the way of blogging ... it means I have a life! :)

But seriously, Colten and I went on vacation this past weekend, which was a BLAST!  (stay tuned for more on that later this week...hopefully!) At least until I got very, very sick.  Yesterday was spent in bed...seriously, the entire day!  Today is much better, and then tomorrow starts the long holiday weekend, so I'm pumped about that!

Today, I'm being featured on the wonderful Brittany's blog.  We were paired up through last month's Cara Box Exchange and it's been great getting to know her and her sweet, sweet family.  I did a short little Q&A for her, so hop on over to check it out to learn a little bit more about me! :)

I also canNOT believe it's July already!  Holy smokes!  Seriously, half of 2013 is over already.  Plus, it's officially summer, which means it's HOTT!
But on the plus side, less than 6 months until Christmas! ♥

Also, the lovely Google Reader is disappearing right before our very eyes.  At least, that's what I hear.  I've had multiple reports (from various bloggers) that some still have access and some do not.  So I'm not sure when or if it's actually leaving for good, but in case it is, have no fear, I'M STILL HERE!  You can follow me on Bloglovin', for starters!  Just click on that pretty blue button ...

Follow on Bloglovin

Or, you can find me on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook!
You can also follow my Pinterest boards or email me.  See those pretty pink icons over there (under my blurg about myself)?
<------------------------------------------------------>
Yeah, you can CLICK ON THEM and they'll take you to the different social media outlets in order to reach me.  Pretty cool, huh?  Yep, I thought so too.

And, some encouragement for this beautiful Tuesday:

Go forth and LIVE YOUR LIFE, friends! Happy Tuesday! Make it count :).

Carnival Craze

I participated in my first ever Cara Box exchange this month, sponsored by Kaitlyn at Wifessionals!

cara (car-rah) noun : beloved friend

The Cara Box Exchange is a monthly box swap with other women.  You can be a blogger or not, but you sign up over on Kaitlyn's blog - I highly recommend it!  You are then paired with two women, one that sends a box of goodies to you and one that you send a box of goodies to.  Over the course of the month, you pretty much stalk these two women in an attempt to really get to know them.  Well, you email them, too, of course ;).  This month, I was paired with two very amazing women: Brittany at Everyday Thoughts and Joanna at River City Essentials.   I sent a box to Brittany, which you can check out here, and Joanna sent a box to me!

Each month has a theme, and June's was 'Take Me to the Fair!'
She went with a carnival theme after learning that I'm a sucker for date nights with my hubby!

She learned fairly quickly that I love pink!  I hope it wasn't 'too' obvious! :)  Another part of the Cara Box is that you include an encouraging letter to the woman you're sending too - who doesn't love getting a box of goodies in the mail AND some encouragement from fellow women/bloggers?!  No brainer there!

Joanna included so many goodies!  She even thought of Ace, our sweet puppy!
Included were:
//Crystal Light lemonade
//super cute pink & white polka dot napkins
//ping pong balls and cups for a balltoss
//glitter pink nail polish & lipstick from pure romance
//animal crackers
//caramel corn popped chips
//elephant dog toy for Ace
//supplies for a kissing booth

I loved all of it! Thanks, Joanna!  Ace seriously is obsessed with his elephant - it's become his favorite toy and he drags it around everywhere he goes!  (if you follow me on Instagram {@brileigh12}, you've already seen a pretty funny video of him and his new friend) My husband also thanks you for the animal crackers - if only you could've seen his face, haha!  It was priceless!  We also plan to have some fun with the kissing booth soon, so stay tuned for that date night!

I've loved being a part of the Cara Box exchange and I will definitely participate again in the future!  I've met two great ladies and I look forward to following their journey and continue learning more about them. :)

New & Improved

It's time, my friends!

I've been working on getting the blog up to speed for quite some time now, ever since I was naive and wanted to become more involved in the bloggy world.

Well, it's been going great and my blog is growing.  It's also become to mean much more to me than just words.  I know that sounds silly, but it's true!  This blog has grown into something very near and dear to my heart, and it's been a great outlet for so much more than it ever was.

Now, this blog is an encouragement - if not to others, then to myself.  Not only do I pour my heart and soul into it, but the feedback is totally encouraging to myself.  I am forever grateful for anyone and everyone that lifts me up when I'm down, prays with me for those in need (newtown, boston, west, oklahoma), or just offers words of encouragement and love.  I truly cherish each and every comment from my readers, so for that, THANK YOU!  I've also gotten questions from non-bloggers that read my blog asking if they can leave questions even if they don't have a blog of their own.  The answer is YES!  Simply click 'comment' to say what you want to say, and then you can either post as anonymous or you can just put your name so I know who you are and who to thank!

With all of that being said, I've spent a lot of time deep in thought and prayer lately on where to go from here.  What's next?  What changes need to be made in order to continue my growth?
The answer was clear: change the title of this here blog.

That's right!  It's time to let go of: My Life Would Suck Without Me.  Let's face it, I'm no longer in the phase of my life that I was when this blog began over 4 years ago.  Now, that title is really no longer appropriate.  It's time to grow, as I've grown. So, I'd like to welcome you to

FAITHFUL FOOTPRINTS

With this new title, my blog can grow as I grow.  I truly hope that this change only allows more participation and readers instead of losing them.  I promise you that I read and respond to every single comment by email, if it allows me to.

I truly hope that you will continue to follow me (or for those newly following, begin and continue) on my journey through life.  It's not always rainbows and sunshine, but as Gary Allan so kindly reminds me: every storm runs out of rain.

Life is so much more than the shortcomings and hardships.  It's about finding the silver lining during those times.  But it also allows us to vent during those not-so-great moments, and it also gives us blogspace to allow such venting ;).  So, I'm not promising that every post will be uplifting and positive, because I know that's not true.  I will have tough days, just like everyone else.  I will still be myself and that's really all I can promise you! :)

So, sit back, grab a glass of wine if you please (or a can of beer, to each their own!) and stay a while as I venture down the staggered path of life and leave my own faithful footprints.  ♥

While I'm Away...meet Cheltee!

I have been totally nonexistant to blogland lately, and there's a very good reason!

VACATION!!!!!!

Woo hoo!!!!

Okay, it wasn't to some magical land with lots of fruity drinks and delicious eye candy, but it was still amazing!  I will share more on this later in the week, but in the meantime, please meet CHELTEE! :)

Hello Beautiful People

Thank you to Bri for letting me take up a little space on her blog for this afternoon.

I am sure many of you have no clue who I am so let me introduce myself.

Hello, I am Cheltee and I blog over at Something About You & Me.

I am a 21 year old newlywed who lives in Phoenix, Arizona with her handsome husband and fur babies.

I blog about being a new wife, dealing with my plus size body, and all my crazy life events.

If you want to know even more about me, then take a joy ride over to my blog and check me out.

Now lets get started with the little helpful words I have in store for you today.

"5 things you may need to know about your future or current husband."

Before I get started with the list please keep in mind this is strictly out of my own brain, and every boyfriend, fiance, husband, or male is different.

He loves to feel needed by his woman

Come on ladies let your husband fix the jammed closet door or that silly necklace that allows gets tangled.

Every man loves to help out his damsel in distress. If he feels like you need a helping hand, for gosh sakes let him help.

Let him impress you!

Heck there are even times that I will tighten a jar a little tighter just to ask him to help me open it.

Even at times when he looks makes those sighs, he is actually loving the fact that you asked.

Remember though men also love an independent woman so do not be to needy.

Just because he doesn't say it doesn't mean he doesn't show it

All women love to hear the words I love you or You're beautiful and guess what we deserve it.

However just because he doesn't tell you it every time he sees you doesn't mean he doesn't care.

Men tend to use their actions then their words.

Kissing you on the cheek before heading out to a night on the town.

Sending you roses just because its Tuesday

Wrapping his arms around you as he passes through the kitchen

Putting the toilet seat down

Yep all these things are simple little ways to show that he is thinking about you.

Some are louder then others but he is doing it.

So the next time you think he is being a little distant look around and see what little things he is doing.

Tell him straight up

I don't know about you but I would rather have someone tell me whats wrong then me having to pull it out of them.

Your Husband probably feels the same way.

When your angry and your man asks what is wrong, don't say I am fine because your not.

Tell him what is up, if you need some time to calm down.

Tell him!!

"Hey babe, I love you but I just need a moment. We can talk about it later"

Bam Wam thank you Ma'am

Also if you are ready to talk and he doesn't act like he is listening. Don't Freak out!

Sometimes men just need a few minutes to process the situation.

Am I saying all men listen to every word your saying, NO, but most do try.

Don't nag him about taking time to process what just happened.

Give him a chance to think about what the right thing for him to do is.

He does care how he looks and most importantly how you look

It is true your husband probably doesn't know the difference between Gucci & Escada but he does know the difference between Hot & Not. (most of the time)

I will be the first one to say that my man takes forever in the bathroom in the morning.

Heck sometimes I am ready well before he is in the morning.

It is because my husband cares about what he looks like and I am sure yours does too.

He knows what shoes goes best with his jeans and white t-shirt.

When shopping he isn't just picking out a shirt, he is matching it with those torn up jeans you bought him for Christmas three years back.

When he goes shopping for you, he brings you not because he doesn't know what the hell he is doing.

He brings you because he doesn't want to piss you off if he gets the wrong size.

When he tells you, Babe you look banging, its not because he is thinking about sex (well maybe)

Its because he is thinking about all the guys who are going to be jealous that your his woman.

So maybe do a little test with your man and see how much he really pays attention to what you wear.

Let him pick out your outfit for an event or night out, I am telling you

He may just surprise you.

Show him what you want

So you want your husband to be more affectionate but you don't know how to tell him?

Well everyone needs a little helping hand, no one is perfect.

Instead of waiting til that big argument you have almost every other month to tell him how much you miss the romantic side of your relationship.

Try this!

The next time he makes you dinner because you had a long day at work, even if it is carry out.

Tell him how much you love the fact that he shows he cares in little ways like that.

You are not only making him aware of the fact that you know he is doing a great job but you are showing him he has the ability to do something affectionate.

Small steps are good steps.

Well thank you for wasting two minutes reading my silly little list.

If it didn't help you or at least put a smile on your face then I am sorry, not sorry.

Now go check out my blog and show some love.

Thanks again Bri!

Spring Break isn't just for {KiDS}

That's right!  Introducing, How to Spring Break in the Working World!  Most people enjoyed Spring Break last week, but there are many that have it this week.  It gets confusing...  HOWEVER, I will just expand on last week's festivities and LINK-UP about how to enjoy Spring Break as a real-life adult, without an entire week off from responsibility and stress.  Feel free to please join us, as I'm co-hosting with some fabulous ladies!

 photo SpringBreakPlan_zps949f4a62.png

Let me break it down for you. Everyday this week, there are certain Spring Break-like activities that I and I hope many of you will participate in, then we'll share with each other our working world spring break here! Check it out:

Day One: Hit the Beach!
Wear your flip flops and shades. If they cannot be worn to work then break them out at home. Refuse to wear anything but flip flops and sunglasses, that is on your feet and face...don't be going nude yall.

Day Two: Time to Snack it Out
You heard me right, break that diet today! If you were on a spring break trip right now you'd be eating some fried fish and ice cream. So grab your favorite snacks/ "junk food" and enjoy it!

Day Three: Bring on the Romance
It's time you found your spring break fling...and by that I mean find your favorite beachy romance movie, kick your feet back and rest your sweet bum on the sofa.

Day Four: Refresh Yourself
Bring down that dusty blender and serve up your favorite fruity drink, top it off with a tiny umbrella and ask your hunny for a massage.

Day Five: Out on the Town
You've played in the sun and now it's time to bask in the moonlight. Grab your hunny or your gal pals and go do something fun like put-put!

Day Six: Yellow Polka Dots
By now your tan is looking pretty smooth so it's time to strut your stuff in your swimsuit. No matter where you are, put that swimsuit on. If your weather is nice go outside, otherwise wear it around the house and pretend your bed is the ocean. But please friends, don't be wearing it to work, it's probably not allowed and I will not stick up for you in front of your boss.

Day Seven: Pack it on Up
It's time to cram into the car and go home spring breakers aka clean that house and get ready for spring! I know, I know, but we all knew it was coming.

You guessed it,
It's a LINK-UP!
...and some fabulous ladies are joining as co-hosts!

Blog {Overhaul}

So much NEW!

I'm very happy to have a new look to my blog!

It definitely feels more like 'me', and I hope it's not TOO bright or busy or anything.  BUT, if you have a strong opinion about it (love it, hate it, whatever...), please let me know!  It's still a work in progress, but it's getting there!

What else is new? I'm so glad you asked!  And if you didn't, here's what's new anyway ;):

• a lovely new signature for all new posts, beginning with this one
• social media buttons over there to the right: twitter, facebook, pinterest, instagram, email, and bloglovin'...it's all there!
• hovering Pinterest button on all pictures
• the 'about me' blurb
•  my pictures no longer have the ugly border around it, making all pictures look much, much better, and
• a new design button!

Everything is customized by yours truly, and I really feel that I'm getting the knack for this stuff!  And it's true what they say, it can all be done without paying ridiculous prices...you just have to have patience!  I'm working on the patience part, but it's been fun creating a look that's all my own!   And again, if you have an opinion or any comments, please share!  I've been hard at work with this lately and would love some feedback.  Thanks in advance!

The Newlywed Game {Take 3}

Linking in for today's Newlywed Game!

**I want to apologize in advance for some of my husband's answers - he answered them at around midnight last night on very little sleep...at least that's what I'm using to justify some of these answers haha!  Just keep that in mind and we'll leave it at that...  :).  I also 'un-rednecked' some of his answers for your reading benefit.**

one: In your opinion, who has the better in-laws? You, or your spouse?
I think he does.  Our parents (all of them) are always supportive, but my parents have been such a huge part of us being where we are today, including financially!  And they paid for our wedding!  Thanks mom and dad!
She has the better in-laws.  I think that's how it's being worded.

two: Who decided on the wedding song for your first dance? What was it?
I kind of did (oops!).  He wanted something totally non-first-dance-worthy.  I've always wanted Shania Twain's 'From This Moment On' duet with Bryan White.  He agreed and that was that!
We both did but I do not remember the song.  Wait, I think it was 'Then They Do' - I may be wrong, I'm sorry babe (Yeah, that song was the mother-son dance... Reading his answer kinda made me sad... But I have to keep in mind that he was pretty intoxicated and let it go.  I love you babe!   *at least he apologized*)

three:  Which song would you say is your spouse's theme song & why?
Umm, I dunno!  Probably Colt Ford's 'Dirt Road Anthem'.  He gets pretty upset when people say they like Jason Aldean's song, 'Dirt Road Anthem'.  He sets them straight as to whose song it really is!  Haha.
'Thrift Shop' haha.  Just kidding.  I really couldn't tell you because I don't know any songs she listens to.  (He really doesn't - it pretty much changes weekly!)

four: What is the first thing your spouse takes off when they come home from work?
His boots.  Those things are monstrous!
Her shoes because we don't allow shoes on the carpet.  (yes, sir!)

five:  Fill in the blank.  When it comes to ______ , I definitely wear the pants in this relationship, but when it comes to _______ , my spouse definitely wears the pants.
I wear the pants when it comes to our finances.  I refuse to be living paycheck to paycheck forever.  We're getting so much better, it's awesome!  He wears the pants when it comes to all things technical.  He's pretty good at it, and I am definitely not.  I'm forever asking him to fix something or help me unplug and plug something in (gaming consoles and that sort of thing).
When it comes to everything, I definitely wear the pants in this relationship, but when it comes to money, my spouse definitely wears the pants.  (thanks babe...haha. someone has a high opinion of himself!)

six:  What is one thing you could do that would make your spouse the happiest person in the world?
Cook dinner, clean the house, do laundry, take the dog out all weekend...  He's had to do a lot of the housework over the past year since I'm working two jobs, and I know he hates it.  I'm sorry, love!  But you're amazing at it and I'm very grateful for your sacrifice!
Nothing, because I already make her the happiest person in the world.  (this is true...isn't he so romantic? lol)

seven:  What is the most unusual thing you ever found in your spouse's pocket/purse?
Hmmm.... I'm not sure.  He was walking around with a paper towel in his pocket the other day, which I remember thinking was strange.
There ain't no tellin.  Half the time, I think her and Mary Poppins are cousins because you will find the most random things.  I guess I would be surprised if I pulled a chair out of it.  (okay, this man thinks he's funny...haha)

eight:  In your opinion, does your spouse communicate better with talking, touching, or eye contact?
Eye contact.  He's getting MUCH better at talking though!  We're working on the touching (PG of course people), as it is my love language!  It would figure that he's not good at the thing I want most (hand-holding, etc.)
Talking.

nine:  What would your spouse ideally want your current/future children to do for a living?
Mechanics or something probably really weird.  He thinks he's funny when we talk about future children...little does he know that we will NOT be naming any child 'Bobby Sue' or 'Billy Joe'.
Be like their father - a redneck - and teach them how to live off the land.  (yeah, no.  sorry babe...good joke though! *rolls eyes*)

ten:  Keeping this as PG as possible... if you were blindfolded, and need to pick your spouse out of a crowd, what would you search for?
His laugh.  Most definitely his laugh!  Seriously, I need to record it and post it some day, because it's hysterical.  It's also a common 'fun thing' to do at both of our parents' houses.  We make a game out of it, and most often can get him going without even touching him!  Pretty priceless.
Well, I'm blindfolded, so I would have to go with sound because your other senses are heightened.   I would listen for her voice, but that would be hard because you're in a crowd and someone could sound the same as her.  Hell, I'm blindfolded and can't see anything, I would just start feeling around, maybe I might find her and I might not.  (wow.  welcome to the mind of my husband, people!)
